Agape forum member Tom Zahler shared his completed work on the big scale Corsair from Tamiya. Great work Tom!

Well she is finally done! What a kit! Earlier this year I built the Tamiya 1/48 IL-2 and thought that kit was great, this kit exceeds that! This was the most fun I have had building a model, ever!

The only issues I really had were a silvering on the decals. After a nice gloss coat, applying 6 coats of Micro Sol and two coats of Walthers Solution they still had some silvering. Also the rubber tires had center seams (why??) and I used blades and sanding sticks but could not get rid of them. Ugh. There were no fit issues at all! Beautifully molded and engineered kit! Way to go Tamiya!

I wanted this kit to have the appearance of getting ready to go out on a mission from a carrier, very heavily weathered and I think I have gotten that look.
