Readers’ Gallery: Aaron Long’s 1/48 Tamiya Me-109E

Agape forum member Aaron Long (RonnieRx) shared these photos of his great looking 109E. Awesome work, Aaron!

It’s done!   Its a great little kit and I will happily make another one.  If I hadn’t messed up the canopy, it might have been done sooner.  But alas, it got worked out.

Two new things I learned this build.  I have struggled with future to get a nice gloss coat.  I have tried everything it seems but still can’t get a decal lovin’ smooth finish.  UNTIL NOW!  It was waaay easy and took way less time.  What’s my secret you ask?  Well, a million people know this already I guess.  I brushed the future on!  I put two coats to be sure, but it was the glossiest and smoothest future finish I’ve ever seen.  Decals were a joy!  Well, as joy-some as decals can be.

Second new item is the radio aerial.  I’ve never added one to my planes.  I got some EZline from a friend and it was EZ.  Well, I still struggled, but it was waaaay easier than I thought it would be.  Next time I’ll do an even better job!

Both new items were helped along with the great advice and council of Jason from my local club.  Thanks!
