David Willis shares a very valuable insight on how much mercy God is willing to give us. Hint: It’s more than an ocean full. 😉
Micah 7:18-19 NIV
18 Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. 19 You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
The story is told of a destitute woman from the slums of London who was invited to go to the ocean for a short vacation with a group of people. The woman had never seen the ocean before, and as she stood on it’s shore, she burst into tears. Puzzled, those with her asked the lady why she was crying. Pointing to the ocean, the woman said, “This is the only thing I have ever seen that there is enough of.”
Micah reminds us that God has an abundance of mercy. Likewise, the Book of Lamentations reminds us that God’s mercy is made new every morning. Take heart! We serve a merciful and loving God. Share with Him what weighs you down, give Him your troubles and you too will find His mercy and grace. And like the lady by the ocean, you will come to realize that He has enough…even for you.
May God richly bless you as you seek His perfect will for your life!
