Keeping up with Anigrand Craftswork’s release schedule is not an easy task! They release new and interesting kits practically every week- never a dull moment. This week they’re releasing a “X” aircraft from World War II, Curtiss’ XP-62. Here is what Arnold Chiu’s email announcing the release said:
The Curtiss XP-62 was a heavily armed, high-performance, single engine pursuit airplane built for the contract with a guaranteed maximum speed of 468 miles per hour at 27,000 feet. The aircraft was to armed with either eight 20 mm cannon or twelve 0.50 inch machine guns. A contract for 100 P-62 fighters was awarded, but was terminated as it would affect deliveries of urgently needed Curtiss-built P-47 Thunderbolt.
Anigrand Craftswork’s Curtiss XP-62 is the first kitted 1/72 scale model in the market. It comes with many high detailed precisely resin parts and decal, as well as the clear resin casting canopy. The unit price of this large-sized single-engine fighter plane is only US$48 plus US$6 shipping charge.
This is a cool looking airplane, with a big, brutish look. I have built Anigrand’s XP-60, and thoroughly enjoyed that kit. I am definitely going to be placing an order for this one, too. If you’ve not built a resin kit, are a fan of unusual aircraft, or just want to build a really cool kit- I highly recommend checking out this and other kits from Anigrand.
