One thing that always amazes me is the resourcefulness of the modeling community. Part missing? Detail lacking? Version not available? No problem! Make it yourself. Plastic, resin, metal, foil, putty or (it wouldn’t surprise me) brown gravy- all are game when it comes to creating parts.
Aircraft Resource Center has a great article today by Łukasz Studniarz showing how he made a very nice vacuform canopy using some simple tools found in almost any home.
One of the things I like about his method is it truly is simple to do. So many times you see a technique that is billed as “simple”, but it leaves you scratching your head. Not this one- truly a handy technique to keep in mind!
